Nostalgia Road

1963: Elvis reigned, the Beach Boys sang of fun in the sun and drive-in movies ruled.

Teenager Jo Thompson spends an idyllic summer on a Minnesota farm, riding horses, pulling pranks with her cousin and getting her very first kiss.

1965: A president is dead, civil rights moves are violent and the war in Vietnam knows no end.

Jo's parents have been killed. Her cousin is in serious trouble and the boy she liked has a steady girlfriend.

Serious decisions need to be made about the kind of woman Jo will become.

Down Nostalgia Road

1967: Peace and love, Flower Power and Feelin' groovy.

Bored with boring life on a Minnesota farm, Mary Anne Wade runs off to San Francisco where the allure of Haight-Ashbury and the ability to "turn on, tune in, and drop out" sound like heaven.

Only heaven turns out to be hell. Can she escape and go home?
